There can be few better ways to introduce India than this tour. This fascinating
and wide ranging journey takes place in the classic cities of Delhi and Agra
with its world famous monument dedicated to love-the Taj Mahal, the Rajputana
cities of Udaipur Jaipur and the renowned Temples of Khajuraho before heading
even further north to Kathmandu, Capital of the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal.
This carefully planned & diverse itinerary profiles a memorable introduction
to the most richly endowed region of India.
Day 1 Delhi Arrive Delhi, transfer to hotel. Day at leisure. Evening, transfer
to Red Fort for the Sound and Light program, which brings the history of Delhi
life.
Day 2 Delhi After breakfast, a combined fall day tour of New and Old Delhi.
You will visit the wide avenues & broad vistas of the imperial vision of New
Delhi, India Gate, Parliament House, the Government Secretariat & Qutab Minar,
an 11th century victory tower. In Old Delhi - the monumental Red Fort, Jama Masjid
and the bustling market of Chandni Chowk will be visited.
Day 3 Udaipur Morning transfer
to airport and fly to Udaipur - upon arrival transfer to hotel. Afternoon, City
tour. Udaipur is a romantic oasis town full of lakes, impressive palaces and pleasure
gardens. The whole atmosphere is magical.
Day 4 Jaipur In the morning some more sightseeing of Udaipur - followed
by free afternoon for independent activities. Later, depart for airport to board
flight for Jaipur. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel.
Day 5 Jaipur After breakfast, full day city tour. In the morning you will
take an excursion to the fortress bastion of Amber - retracing ancient footsteps
on elephant back. Return to Jaipur for a full afternoon's sightseeing of the Palace
of winds, the Jantar Mantar Observatory and the City Palace.
Day 6 Agra Drive to Agra, enroute
visit Fatehpur Sikri, the ancient abandoned, but preserved, Moghul capital. Check
in to the hotel in Agra. Afternoon city tour of Agra and visit the incomparable
Taj Mahal - testimony of a man's love for his wife and later the magnificent Agra
Fort.
Day 7 Khajuraho Morning sunrise tour to the Taj Mahal. After breakfast,
transfer to airport for flight to Khajuraho. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel.
Afternoon temple tour. These temples provide an educational afternoon for all
human life is depicted here. The sculptures within are considered to be the most
perfect figures achieved in stone, depicting gods, goddesses and amorous couples.
Day 8 Varanasi After breakfast,
transfer to airport for flight to Varanasi which attracts thousands of Hindu pilgrims
every year. It is a city that cannot be described, only experienced. Afternoon
city tour.
Day 9 Kathmandu Early morning boat ride on Holy river Ganges. After breakfast,
transfer to airport for flight to Kathmandu, the capital of the Kingdom of Nepal
in the foothills of Himalayas. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. Afternoon,
local sightseeing.
Day 10 Kathmandu Excursion to
Bhadgaon and Patan. The glorious profusion of pagodas, temples and Buddhist stupas
are enhanced by the Himalayan panorama of Kathmandu valley. In the neighboring
areas of Bhadgaon and Patan, architectural excellence, temples and the way of
life is enchanting. (Optional Everest flight)
Day 11 Delhi Morning at leisure, afternoon, fly to Delhi

except Wednesday as the Taj Mahal in Agra is closed on Mondays.
POKHARA EXTENSION
Day 11 Pokhara Depart Kathmandu for Pokhara by air (morning flight) Upon
arrival you will be transferred to the hotel. Rest of the day free for independent
Day 12 Pokhara Morning half day mini-trek to Birrethanti. Afternoon boat
ride on Lake Phewa. Rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 13 Kathmandu In the morning depart for Kathmandu and then fly to Delhi.
